Rivka Waas
Rivka was born in Israel. She has always been very attached to her native country, which she left in 1986 for Canada but her memories always come back in her paintings.
Her world of painting started in 1999 and that encouraged her to study watercolour and mixed media. Presently she chooses to work in acrylics.
Rivka belongs to several art-groups as: Ottawa Mixed-Media Artist Association, Arts Carleton Place, Almonte and Area Artists’ Association. She also used to be a member of the Nepean Fine Art League.
Painting is the most natural way for this painter to express herself. Her personality comes out in her paintings which reflect, without a doubt, her inner-self and her wishes for harmony in humankind. Her work reflects what the firmament, earth, forest, water and fire symbolize in her world.
Rivka had many of her works in several galleries in Ottawa and the region and had her Artwork for three years in the Moth-Gallery in Merrickville. She also had several solo shows.
Rivka’s paintings bring out the person she is…bubbling and real!!
