Laurette Lafleur

As a storyteller using images and ideas, I want to share the treasures of life. I create images to focus on beauty, mystery, and the sparkle of innocence. My stories have a hint of fun and lead the reader through the unexpected. I hope my art reminds us that no matter how dark a moment may be; we thrive when we live in the sunshine. I wish a bright future for all.

In 2015, my first ‘real’ camera arrived courtesy of Air Miles. I signed up for a 4-evening course to learn photography. What a surprise! It was the beginning of an exploration of concepts, masters who had gone before, current day gurus, and a search for my own expression of creativity. My previous lives in education, entrepreneurship, marketing, motorcycling, martial arts, first aid, caregiving, and traffic safety provided a solid base for my adventure.

I had spent a lifetime experiencing wonders in our world, sharing these insights through oral storytelling. Many people and organizations helped me to learn about photography. I hope you enjoy some of my favourite images.

Soon, the written stories will accompany them. Two novels are in progress. One is a murder mystery about a woman who goes to extreme lengths to provide for her son. The second is a creative non-fiction examining the history of the role women played in the motorcycle industry. In addition, a collection of short stories incorporating photographic images will bring all my passions together.
