The Almonte and Area Artists Association (also known as 4A) was established in 1991 as a non-profit organization supporting artists and artisans within the community and surrounding area.
Our members are comprised of very talented artists and artisans who create artistic works using a variety of mediums.
The Association exists to:
- Encourage and develop high standards of visual arts by providing artists with opportunities to showcase work through exhibitions and other art venues.
- Encourage an exchange of ideas and a sharing of information among members through regular meetings and special events.
- Provide or sponsor educational opportunities pertaining to visual arts through the organization of speakers, workshops, courses, seminars and other professional development activities.
Our membership year runs from January 1st to December 31st. We hold regular meetings which often incorporate a learning opportunity and always include a fun, social gathering of like-minded artists. If you would like to join our association, please go to our membership page.

Art in the Attic is the major event held by the Almonte & Area Artists Association. The art show and sale was launched in 1991 and has been held every year since. Art in the Attic showcases the wonderful works of local artists and artisans. The show is ever evolving with fresh talent. The constant that has held fast over the years is the quality and originality of their work.
Art in the Attic is held annually in the Ron Caron Auditorium at the Old Town Hall in downtown Almonte on Mother’s Day Weekend. This historic and premiere venue with its soaring ceiling of hand-hewn Douglas fir beams set the tone. The classic art boards and full overhead lighting highlights the exhibits and makes it worthwhile just to visit and take in the view.
